Personalized Publishing Plan

April 18, 2018 by Peter Wietmarschen Leave a Comment

It’s time! Your Personalized Publishing Plan awaits! You’ve finished your manuscript, you’ve worked through all the plot points, you’ve supported all your arguments, and you’re ready to put your manuscript into a real, honest-to-God book. What’s the next step you may ask?

Making the decision to publish your book

Now you are ready to decide how you want to publish your book whether through self-publishing or traditional publishing. Depending on what your vision is for your book, each pathway offers advantages and disadvantages. Your decision here and now shapes the next few months and even years of your career as an author. There are similar tasks involved in self- and traditional publishing; however, each aspect has individualized processes to complete also.

Knowing what to expect through the process can and will save you time, money, and most importantly, anxiety. For example, Colleen worked with an author a couple years back who was looking to traditionally publish her book. When you are trying to find a publisher there are a few documents you need; one is a book proposal. This author had an in-person interview with a potential publisher and needed the proposal for her interview. The book proposal includes information about your book and why this publisher should choose to work with you; needless to say, your book proposal is quite important. During an in-person interview, the author usually has at most, 15 minutes to make an impression. Colleen helped our client with putting together her proposals and afterwards the client said,

After working with Colleen, my anxiety level decreased 100%. Thanks for everything! PERFECTION! – Karen Kirkendol

Creating your personalized publishing plan

Having a clear and easy-to-follow publishing plan is an essential part of making your book a reality. Making this decision should not be taken lightly. Being in control of your book and the process is an absolute must. Your success as an author and an entrepreneur depend on you being informed on the proper path to follow and making the decision that best suits you and your book. Another client of ours, Janet Kassalen said,

They were professional, friendly, honest and organized. They gave me advice, shared feedback from friends who had read my book, and let me make decisions. I feel confident they helped get all the important matters for my book set up properly…
