Your Literary Prose

Peter and Colleen

Colleen started her first business in 1996 (she was 10!), specializing in medical transcription, which lasted for 18 years! She then pivoted to become a Certified Professional Author and Speaker Assistant, to help people seeking direction throughout the publishing process.

Fast forward a few years and Peter decided to lean into his top-notch writing skills by joining Colleen at Your Literary Prose.

He initially worked through day-to-day operations as the designated “tech guru.” (A recent grad being good at tech? No way!) But since then, Peter’s skills have grown alongside Your Literary Prose. He is now their primary copywriter, a nonfiction editor with a focus on memoirs, and a publishing project manager for clients.

Our vision is to be the go-to resource for authors and writers to share their stories and expertise, cementing their legacy with a book they are proud to call their own.

More About Us!

Colleen

Colleen love of books has run the gamut, from carrying armloads of books home from the library to working in the library and becoming a Certified Publishing Professional, helping people publish their books.

During summer breaks in high school and college, Colleen worked at public libraries shelving books and putting them in alphabetical or numerical order. You’d never know it today, but at the time, she thought it was the most boring task a person could do. Ah, kids!

Today, Colleen focuses her skill set on three areas: education, editing and proofreading, and project management—supporting authors so they’re confident navigating the publishing process and in professional book editing and proofreading, so their stories can be told and shared to help others and make a difference.

Peter

Peter originally joined Your Literary Prose in 2014 as the designated “tech guru” for Colleen, upholding his duty as a devoted son to help his mother’s business succeed. But since then, Peter’s love of writing and expert editing skills have grown alongside Your Literary Prose.

Now, he’s their primary copywriter, a non-fiction editor with a focus on memoirs, and the main host of the Blank Page to Bestseller podcast.

When not working, Peter is frequently reading a myriad of books in varying genres from sci-fi and fantasy to sports history to business tactics. On most weekends (or any day there is a game), you can find Peter watching some sort of sporting event. An avid FC Cincinnati season ticket holder since their start in 2016, he is often playing the drums with the Knights of the Bailey during home games.

Testimonial

"It's rare to find a talent like Colleen who masterfully wordsmiths submissions with a keen eye for detail. Her ability to retain my unique voice in edits and critiques is nothingi short of remarkable."

Testimonial

I've been writing for decades, but I've always felt as though I was missing something unidentifiable. I didn't feel like my voice came across properly. In working with Peter on my memoir, I learned where I was going astray.
