Hire a Coach and Show Your Strength!

February 4, 2020 by Peter Wietmarschen Leave a Comment

Hiring a coach is not a sign of weakness, in fact, it is a sign of strength!  When you make the decision to hire a coach you will show yourself, your colleagues, and your clients you are working to better yourself and your business. But, don’t jump into a long-term coaching relationship without a little research; make sure you are working with a coach who will support and challenge you to be the best business owner you can be. Whether you are a business owner looking to write a book or an author, remember, your book is a business so treat it as such.

What To Look For When You Hire A Coach

Once you have made the decision to hire a coach the first thing you will want to do is begin looking for a coach. When you are doing your research take a few things into consideration. First, there are many different coaches, each of whom covers a range of special areas. For example, some coaches work with startup companies to create processes and establish business habits. Other coaches work with established companies looking to reinvent themselves. Still others might focus on writing, marketing, or another specific area.

Look Inside

After you gather a list of coaches you will want to take a moment to look at yourself and your business. You will want to have at least a basic understanding of the 5 W’s: Who, What, Where, When, Why. Yes, the article I wrote was focused more on marketing, but these questions are extremely important to understand in all areas of your business. When you know these answers you will be able to truly see what type of business you might need. You can probably add a few coaches to your list and you can scratch a few off your list too.

Ask Around

The next step when hiring a business coach is to take your list of potential coaches and ask around. All good business coaches have websites, email lists, social media, and other ways to get in touch. Some, if not most, have complimentary calls to talk with and learn about both clients and coaches. Start this process and learn a little about who will work best with you. After you do your research you will be ready to hire a coach!

Hire A Coach, Be Successful!

Hiring a business coach shows you are successful! When you look towards finding help, guidance, and accountability you will see your business grow. Look at what your goals and objectives are in business or writing and see what coach works best for you. A coach who works well with you will give you the ability to better secure your business, reach more clients, and make more money.
