Drive, Commitment, Routine – They Make Mondays Easier!

September 4, 2019 by Colleen Wietmarschen Leave a Comment

Be Grateful for Mondays!

Mondays are easier when you have drive, commitment, and a routine!

Going back to your “WHY,” when you have drive, commitment, and a routine in place the world is your oyster.

What drives you?

Notice how I keep discussing the importance of knowing your “WHY?” It’s because your “WHY” drives you in all areas of your life. Your “WHY” is your answer when people ask, “if you weren’t receiving a paycheck for your work would you do it anyway?” Your “WHY” drives you to fulfill your goals, sit up and go to work or your business every day.

Are you working to pay the bills or are you doing what you do – administrative work, consulting, writing, speaking, because it excites you and you love your work? If you’re only working to pay the bills and you aren’t excited about what you’re doing, your drive/determination is going to be about as lackluster as a cold and rainy day.

Discovering what drives you.

When you know your “WHY” you’re motivated to keep moving forward and complete your goals. Below are three of several benefits to knowing your purpose, your “WHY,” and your drive stays alive so Mondays and all days are easier:

  1. Do what you love. When we do what we love it’s easier to move forward in business and life. We’re all born with our purpose; it’s taking the time to discover it to live the life we want. Ask yourself, “what do I love to do” and “what comes easy to me?” After answering those two questions you’re on your way to discovering your purpose/your “WHY.” Your drive remains forefront because you’re doing what you love to do.
  2. Plan and set achievable goals. Focusing on the end goal is easier because you know what you’re working towards; you have a clear direction of what you want and how to make it happen. It’s easier to steer clear of distractions (social media, people who aren’t your ideal client, negativity…) and accomplish more.
  3. Clarity on life’s purpose. When you are clear on your “WHY” your days require less effort. You know what you want and you can’t be stopped. You have a clear vision to drive you forward. When you experience joy, you know you’re living your purpose.

When you are true to yourself and unleash what you love to do and what comes easy to you, you focus on your goals and don’t allow distractions to stop you, and you experience joy because you’re clear on the vision for your life and your drive takes you on your chosen course.

What keeps commitment alive?

When you know what drives you, you’re committed to making things happen; you don’t shy away from challenges or changes because your purpose is so great nothing stops you.

You’re doing what you love, you’re focused on your goals, and you’re clear on your vision so you have the commitment to complete your plans. It’s not always easy, your drive carries you because you know your purpose to make your goals happen, and you do this because you’re committed.

What does routine have to do with it?

When you have drive and your commitment is so strong nothing stands in your way, your goals and your routine make it all come together. How?

Plan your workday, your exercise, your family time and put the activities in your calendar, stick to the plan and it becomes your routine. For instance, if you like to workout in the morning, set your alarm and put in your calendar. You’ll wake up five days a week at 6:15 and be out the door to at 6:30 to exercise whether it’s a walk, a spin class, or an aerobics class. You arrive back at 7:45 to shower, eat breakfast at 8:30, in the office for work at 9:00 until 5:00. This is your daily plan for work and exercise and eventually becomes so routine you don’t even think about it.

How putting drive, commitment, and routine together makes having a positive Monday Mindset painless.

I’ve always loved to read and help people, and when I found a writing group who had their words on paper but didn’t know the next step to publish, I had the drive to figure out how to take their writing to the next level – book publication. I took a certification course and became a Certified Author’s Assistant. We help people in whatever part of the publishing process they need so they can take their story and make their dream of publication come to fruition.

Monday’s Mindset is easy when you have drive, commitment, and a routine. It’s easier to plant your feet on the ground and face the day because you know your purpose, you love what you’re doing, and you have a plan so nothing stops you. It’s easy to be excited and realize Mondays are just another day!

Until next time,

Colleen
