Editors, Proofreaders, Book Publishing Consultants, Professional Author Assistants, Let Me Prey Upon You: Breaking Free from a Minister’s Sexual Abuse by Sandy Phillips Kirkham
Colleen and Peter started working with Sandy in January 2019 to assist her in writing, publishing, and sharing her story. We began with a Deep Dive VIP Day creating a strategic plan for writing, editing, publishing, and marketing her book. Besides her VIP Day, we worked with Sandy providing consulting, editing, proofreading, and Professional Author Assistance and she launched in early December 2019.
Wendy Dunning, Art Designer, worked with us and Sandy updating the front cover, designing the back cover and the interior layout of the book.
Professional Author Assistant, Book Consultants, Project Managers, Words for the Unbearable: A Journey Through Loss by Enid Sanders
Colleen and Peter connected Enid to their team member and book designer, Wendy Dunning, for the cover and interior design of her book. They also provided project management consulting on the many aspects of publishing including securing ISBNs and the LCCN, setting up book printing, creating Amazon accounts for the author page and book page(s). Enid’s goal was to publish on her 75th birthday (a three-month time period) and it happened!
Editors, Proofreaders, Book Consultants, Professional Author Assistants, From Heaven to Heaven by Karin Kirkendol
Peter and Colleen worked with Karin through the process of publishing her book. We provided book consultation on how to begin and a plan to follow. Our Art Director, Wendy Dunning, advised her on different directions she could take with the illustrations and provided the interior layout of the book. With all clients, we answered any questions Karin had to ease any anxiety. Karin was interested and wanted to know the steps of what was entailed in the entire publishing process. Per her words, “I don’t want to do any of this stuff, but I want to understand it!” All of our clients are great to work for, but Karin’s energy and easy going attitude made it a fun process.
Communication is key for any project!
Editors, Proofreaders, Professional Author Assistants, 500 Years of Lies: Discover The Extraordinary Number of Native Indian Gifts To The World by Dave Patterson, the1492guy
One might wonder how they could learn so much history from assisting an author with their book. Colleen and Peter worked with Dave Patterson, the1492guy, through the entire process of manuscript creation, publishing details, and some marketing of his book. Peter did a magnificent job providing editing advice from beginning to end. Dave was very open to changes and always said, “You aren’t going to hurt my feelings. That’s what I hired you to do.”
Colleen proofed the manuscript after all edits were completed and managed all the details to make sure tasks were completed in a timely manner.
Dave worked with our team member, Wendy Dunning, Art Director, who assisted him on cover redesign and designed the interior of the book.
This was a true team effort on all sides. It takes a village!
Professional Author Assistant, Flip Flap Try… A Cardinal’s Journey by Janet Kassalen
Colleen and Peter were honored to work with Janet Kassalen as her Professional Author Assistants from the early stages of developing Rainier’s journey through publication.
Peter and Colleen held regular consulting calls with Janet keeping her updated on the progress of the book and provided the necessary information for her to make informed decisions best for her book.
As Project Managers, we worked with team members to ensure all tasks were completed on time and in a professional manner, including, but not limited to, editing, book launch, and marketing.

I would like to thank whoever nominated me for this award. They would not show that information to me when I asked during the interview. Maybe I will write that book one day; I always have the words rolling around inside my head!
